Building your illusion

This may sound like a strange title for an article found on a Nekkid.Net site, but by the time you finish reading it I'm sure you will see just what we're talking about. It could just have well been labeled Building your members, but I'm just to left brained to think that way. Basically what this articles about, is giving you ideas on how to present yourself to your members and potential members that will bring them coming back. You have to understand that you are not just posting provocative images and video clips of yourself on the net to sell. There are hundreds of thousands of sites that people can go to see nude images of women and nothing else. What will set you apart is selling yourself. Actually selling the illusion of yourself to others so that they feel like they know you. If someone feels like they know more about you than just your bra size then they will feel more like they are your friend in some weird Internet way. People would rather give money to their friends than to complete strangers. And when you peel the onion layers away, it's really about getting people to give you their money. So anything that you can do (within reason) to get them to punch in their credit card numbers has to be a good thing and usually is worth the extra effort.

You need to build yourself an Internet image or illusion if you like, that adds to the images your visitors see. You see, what makes the Internet a better medium for this form of art is the ability to interact with your fans and the ability to build the illusion of who you want to be. Magazines, movies, and TV don’t have this benefit so make the most of it. With all of the competition on the Internet today, you really need things that will set you apart from the others. Let me list an example of an illusion you may want to present.

The girl next door
This is a popular illusion, and one that tends to be fairly profitable, but also one that requires the most work on your part. Let me explain a little about it so that you can understand it a little better. A lot of men (and women) like that innocent sweet (and hot) girl next door at some point in their lives. They've all had some sort of a fantasy of catching her outside getting a tan when she thought no one was looking, or seeing her pass by the window at night while she was changing clothes or getting ready for a shower. But what drew us was her sweet innocent nature. We've all imagined how she might just cut loose when she has to much to drink, or when she goes out of town for Spring break and we've all wanted to see that transformation. This illusion requires a lot of thought in everything from how your site is designed to how you answer your emails. Everything you present to your guests has to be thought out so that you present yourself as the "girl next door". Not everyone can pull off this illusion simply because they lack the look for it, but if you can, you will definitely see the benefits of it in your monthly checks.

  • Your site should be innocent and sweet. Using pastel colors helps this. Pinks, purples, or blues are all good colors. The images you pick to use on your guest (tour) section should all be clothed with the exception of the last image to sort of give that shy appearance.

  • Everything on your bio should reflect the sweet girl next door illusion. The girl next door is usually between the ages of 18 to 21 and a student. She either lives at home with her parents or is just breaking in her first apartment. So make sure your images represent that. She's the type of girl that still has teddy bears on her bed so that should give you an idea of settings for the images. Whether you smoke or not, the girl next door is never a smoker so don’t slip up and have an ashtray in any of your images. Your clothes should never be provocative. You can get away with tight half shirts that show off your belly but try to stay away from pushing the sexy look. Trust me, it will show in your eyes more than in your lingerie. And the only piercing you can get away with is a navel ring but even that is pushing it.

  • When she answers her emails (and she always answers emails) she is slightly coy and sweet in her answers to questions. Be as friendly as you can be and try to ask more questions about them than they ask about you. It gives the illusion that you are trying to become their friend and really care about them. This item should be used regardless of the illusion you decide to use. Speaking from personal experience, writing several emails to models asking non-threatening questions and getting no response at all is a quick way to get your members not to renew their membership. If all you're interested in is selling your images, then maybe you should look into another medium or another company to work with.

There are certain things that you need to do to help build your illusion. We can help you along the way, but you will need to put some thought and time into it. Who are you? Where do you live? Where do you work? What type of person do you like to date? Do you currently have a boyfriend/girlfriend? What's your favorite thing to eat and drink? What do you like to do for fun? The answers to all of these questions help build your illusion. It is important that your fans feel like they know who you are and that you are a real person. Have some fun building your illusion, but try to keep it realistic.

Of course we encourage you to use a fake name and location for everyone’s safety, but be sure you pick a fairly real sounding name. Calling yourself Sunshine or something phony will only turn folks off. When picking a location that you live, be sure that it sounds real as well. Telling folks you live on a deserted island does not sound as realistic as claiming to live in Macon Georgia. Try to shy away from large cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, or Palm Beach. Since some of your photo shoots (especially if done outside) may give away your state try to pick a city that is fairly small but far enough away from you. This is done solely for your own safety.

Another thing you may want to consider if you are married or have a boyfriend is to claim that you are single and looking. It gives your fans that sense that maybe they have a chance with you. Do not lead them on to think that, but by eliminating their perceived competition they will still get that feeling. As they said in the movie Coyote Ugly, "You must always look available, but never be available". On the flip side, telling people that you currently have a girlfriend would be a good thing. Whether you are bisexual or not, the thought of two hot girls making love is a great mental image and you may be surprised as to how many female members you may attract.

One thing to consider is the niche market. Goth looks, S&M, foot fetishes, teeny bopers, etc. Yes there is a market for these niches but they are limited and they will also limit the size of how many members you will attract. Most men (and women) do not find a girl attractive that has numerous piercings. If you look like you fell into a tackle box regardless of how attractive you are, you will lose members fast. It is a lot easier to simply remove the jewelry before you do a photo shoot than it is to airbrush it out later. Just think about how many professional models you have ever seen in magazines that have their eyebrows pierced. There is a reason for that. The broader audience you can attract the more money you will make. The same holds true with tattoos. Small feminine tattoos on your ankles or the back of your shoulder are fine but to have large flames coming up your arms takes away from your beauty. You are now in the business of selling your looks, so try not to do anything that will take away from your appearance.

I can not stress enough the importance of building a realistic personal illusion. The more your members feel like they know "the real you" the more they will come back, and the more money you will make. Give this a lot of thought. If you have any questions about this topic please email Mikey.
